The Cavemen, a prominent force in Nigerian highlife music, have officially announced the release of their third studio album, Cavy in the City, due out on Thursday, October 31, 2025.

On Thursday, October 23, the announcement was accompanied by the unveiling of the album’s captivating cover art. The image depicts brothers Kingsley Okorie and Benjamin James in a visually rich, garden-inspired atmosphere, with Kingsley seated on a wooden throne adorned with intricate patterns and Benjamin standing elegantly behind him beneath an arched doorway. The artwork in warm, sepia tones combines traditional and modern aspects, suggesting a theme that links cultural heritage to urban life today.

Cavy in the City’s albums follow those acclaimed records, Roots (2020) and Love and Highlife (2021), which also helped to reintroduce Highlife music to a younger audience. The Cavemen have gained a devoted fan base for their soulful blend of Igbo Highlife beats, jazz, and folk elements, which they showcase in their live shows and distinctive music.

The tracklist and featured artists have not been revealed by the duo, yet excitement is running high among their fans and industry observers. Expectations are high for the brothers to produce another dynamic project that remains faithful to their heritage while incorporating elements of their modern urban lives.

The forthcoming African music project, Cavy in the City, is slated for release on October 31 and is fast emerging as one of the most highly anticipated projects of 2025.
