“Saturday Night Live” is set to return from its winter break next Saturday (Jan. 17) with Finn Wolfhard, known for his role in “Stranger Things,” making his hosting debut and A$AP Rocky as the musical performer. The following week (Jan. 24), Teyana Taylor will host for the first time, with the New York rock band Geese as the musical guest. On Jan. 31, Alexander Skarsgård will make his hosting debut, accompanied by Cardi B, who will return to the “SNL” stage.

Teyana Taylor’s upcoming appearance coincides with her rising profile in various fields. In film, she co-starred in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another alongside notable actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Regina Hall. The film has garnered significant attention during the awards season, recently winning Best Picture at the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards, where Anderson also received the Best Director award.

In music, Taylor’s fourth studio album, Escape Room, has earned her first Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album at the upcoming 2026 Grammys. The album features singles like “Long Time” and “Bed of Roses.”

Cardi B’s return to the show brings with it promotional opportunities. The Bronx artist last performed on “SNL” in 2018, where she made headlines by announcing her first pregnancy. She is currently promoting her long-anticipated sophomore album, AM I THE DRAMA?, which was released in September 2025 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. This album, featuring collaborations with Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, Summer Walker, Cash Cobain, and others, also sets the stage for Cardi’s “Little Miss Drama Tour,” slated to begin on Feb. 11 in Palm Desert, California, and continue through various North American arena dates into April.
