Nigerian singer Teniola Apata, known as Teni, has humorously addressed the results of the 68th Grammy Awards, criticizing the organizers after her close friend Davido did not win a prestigious award.

The Grammy ceremony occurred on February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, and was a challenging evening for Nigerian artists. South African artist Tyla won her second Grammy in the Best African Music Performance category.

Tyla’s song “Push 2 Start” from her album Tyla won against strong contenders such as Ayra Starr and Wizkid’s “Gimme Dat,” Burna Boy’s “Love,” Davido and Omah Lay’s “With You,” and Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin’s “Hope & Love.”

After the results, Teni, known for her humorous and candid nature, expressed her frustration on Instagram on February 2, 2026, particularly regarding Davido’s loss. She has frequently mentioned how supportive Davido has been throughout her career.

In recent weeks, Teni attracted attention when she publicly requested Davido’s Lamborghini for a music video, a request he accommodated. She also jokingly asked Grammy winner Burna Boy for his Ferrari, although she has yet to receive a reply.

Amused yet frustrated by the Grammy results, Teni remarked that had she attended the award ceremony, she might have found herself in trouble with the law.

She shared that she is currently in Paris, France, for a performance and noted that her manager had reminded her about the need for funds. With both Davido and Burna Boy not winning at the Grammys, she wondered aloud who might assist her now.

In her video post, she wrote:

“DEM DON ROB MY HELPER!!!!!!!! GRAMMY WHYYYYY!!!!.”

Teni’s response quickly gained traction among fans online, many of whom appreciated her humor while expressing disappointment over Nigeria’s lack of wins at the event.
