Tems, a talented singer and performer, has secured a historic victory at the Grammy Awards, which took place in 2025.

Nigerian music star Tems has made history as the most awarded Nigerian artist at the Grammy Awards, having achieved this distinction following her notable win at the 2025 Grammy Awards ceremony. At the 67th edition of the prestigious event, which took place on February 2, 2025, she earned her second Grammy award in the Best African Music Performance category for her hit single Love Me JeJe.

A high-profile ceremony held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles witnessed Tems surpassing other prominent musicians, such as Burna Boy, Asake, Wizkid, Yemi Alade, and Davido. This latest achievement solidifies her status as one of Africa’s most influential global music stars further.

Tems showed sincere gratitude to her fans, crew, and loved ones in her emotional acceptance speech. She presented the award to her mother, who shared the same birthday as the night of the Grammy Awards.

β€œDear God, thank you so much for putting me on this stage and blessing me with this incredible team. Tomorrow is my mum’s birthday, and this is her first Grammys. I just want to thank you, mum, because she has done so much for me and my brother,” she disclosed.

Tems’ path to achieving this milestone started with her initial Grammy win in 2023, which was in the category of Best Melodic Rap Performance for her collaboration on Future’s “Wait For You,” which featured Drake. She won her second Grammy Award in 2025, setting a new record for Nigerian musicians on the international music stage.

Tems won her victory, and she also earned nominations in several categories, among them Best Global Music Album for Born in the Wild and Best R&B Song for Burning.
