Tems Expresses Gratitude To Davido For Congratulating Her On Her Grammy Win Despite The Various Reactions From Fans

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, widely known as Tems, has expressed thanks to Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, also known as Davido, for congratulating her on her Grammy Award victory.

Davido, nicknamed OBO, took to social media to express admiration for Tems and American singer Chris Brown, congratulating them on their prestigious Grammy win and stating that he was proud of their achievement.

Davido’s actions received a mixed response from his supporters. Critics of OBO were sceptical about his association with Tems, suggesting he was trying to gain her connection. Meanwhile, it was pointed out that Tems didn’t directly respond to Davido’s tweet, which was seen as an indication of her perceived superiority over him.

God, her mother, and team members were thanked by Tems, who received the 2025 Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance. Her song Love Me Jeje triumphed over other prominent tracks, such as Tomorrow by Yemi Alade and Higher by Burna Boy.

Tems has earned her second Grammy Award, and she credits veteran Nigerian artist Seyi Sodimu with inspiring the song that earned her the win.
