Tems Achieves Milestone As Leading African Artist On Spotify

Nigerian artist Tems, whose full name is Temilade Openiyi, has achieved a significant milestone in her career by becoming the African artist with the highest number of monthly listeners on Spotify.

The 30-year-old singer and producer now has 38.3 million monthly listeners, surpassing South African artist Tyla, who has 38.2 million.

This increase in Tems’ listener count can be attributed to her recent international collaborations with artists such as J. Cole and Future, which have expanded her global presence. Her successful track “Raindance” with British rapper Dave has also contributed to her strong performance on charts and playlists.

In addition to her monthly listener achievement, Tems holds the title of the most-streamed female African artist on Spotify, with a total of 4.7 billion streams across all credits.

Her ongoing rise and growing international influence indicate that Tems’ success is likely to continue in the future.
