SZA – Save The Day (From “Hoppers”)

SZA has a history of creating popular songs for film soundtracks, with “All The Stars” from Black Panther being a notable example. She may have another successful track with “Save The Day,” which will feature in the upcoming Disney/Pixar film Hoppers, set to be released on March 6. The film portrays a world where scientists have discovered the ability to transfer human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals. If “Save The Day” seems reminiscent of her previous works like “Good Days” or “Saturn,” that connection is not unfounded. Co-directors Daniel Chong and Nicole Grindle initially considered using those two songs for Hoppers’ credits. However, after discussing the project with SZA and showing her the film, she recognized that something more original could better serve the movie’s needs. Chong noted that SZA’s intuitive understanding of the film was evident during their conversations.
