SZA has once again demonstrated that the SOS era continues to expand in remarkable ways. Last night, the Missouri pop and R&B sensation unveiled the deluxe edition of her highly acclaimed sophomore album. This release came just before her performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans, an event she had been teasing shortly after LANA became available on digital streaming platforms in December. Although the release was initially expected to occur sooner, it faced delays due to clearance issues and the holiday schedules of TDE employees. Some fans expressed a sense of entitlement regarding the updates, even engaging in disputes with SZA on X.

However, the anticipation has finally culminated in the arrival of additional music within this latest deluxe edition. Four new tracks have been added, bringing the total to 42 songs with a combined runtime of two hours and four minutes. The recent inclusions feature the solo rendition of “Open Arms,” along with “PSA,” “Take You Down,” and “Joni,” which features Don Toliver. The latter track may be particularly recognizable to SZA’s audience, as it has been circulating online since 2021. This acoustic ballad explores the theme of lovers reuniting and showcases a brief yet impressive display of vocal talent. Notably, this marks the second collaboration between SZA and Don Toliver, following their previous release, “Used.”
