According to Spotify’s latest announcement, the top Afrobeats artists and songs of 2025 have been globally disclosed.

Spotify has revealed its ranking of the top Afrobeats artists globally for 2025, with Nigerian superstar Burna Boy holding the number one position. The latest announcement underscores Afrobeats’ unstoppable global expansion, as the genre maintains its dominance over charts, festivals, and playlists across continents.

The rankings position Rema in second place, commending him for his ongoing crossover success and global collaborations. Wizkid ranks third, a testament to his enduring influence in moulding the sound of contemporary African music.

Asake, known for his energetic street-inspired anthems, now ranks fourth, further solidifying his position as one of the movement’s fastest-rising stars. Rounding out the top five is Ayra Starr, who was the sole female Afrobeats artist to make the top 5.

Spotify reports that these artists not only dominate streaming charts but also embody the global image of Afrobeats, with their music having a significant impact in regions far beyond Africa. The influence of Afrobeats has never been more pronounced, with sold-out tours in Europe and the Americas and successful placements on the Billboard charts.

Ayra Starr secured the top position with her collaboration with Rauw Alejandro and Rvssian, Santa, which features the viral hit “Shake It To The Max (FLY)”, holding the second spot. Rema’s remix with Selena Gomez, “Calm Down”, ranked third, while We Pray by Coldplay and Burna Boy took the fourth position, and Labianca’s People came in fifth.
