Smoke DZA & Dave East – Check

Smoke DZA Dave East Check

On record, Smoke DZA and Dave East embody distinct aspects of East Coast hip-hop. The one produces music for leisurely walks around NYC, while the other selects tracks for the gym through his energetic rap style. Their past collaborations are well justified given the numerous commonalities they share.

In fact, Smoke and Dave collectively have two nicknames. They are also involved in the former’s projects. Their initial collaborative project was featured on DZA’s Prestige Worldwide mixtape released in 2019. On the final cut of the Curren$y collaborative project, “Inhale,” both Dave East and Styles P joined forces to create a smoker’s dream anthem.

They would reunite in 2020 on Smoke’s ‘A Closed Mouth Don’t Get Fed.’ Their song “96 Knicks” featured them riding a lackluster beat, with numerous references to players associated with the legendary franchise. The performance had a lovely nostalgic quality, with smooth musical transitions from the two artists.

Despite their concerted efforts over a relatively brief period, that would prove to be the final word from Smoke DZA and Dave East in the eyes of their fans.

This interpretation holds true, particularly from the other party’s perspective. Over the past several projects, he has been extremely busy working with producers and other rappers. East has collaborated with artists such as Mike & Keys, araabMUZIK, Ransom, and others.

They’ve reunited for DZA’s latest single, “Check.”

This cut has a similar light and airy quality to the previously mentioned ones. The song’s chorus also references a subtle nod to Jersey club. This summertime collaboration is an enjoyable, laid-back atmosphere that is effortless to get into and enjoy. Verify the box below.
