Sir Shina Peters Claims To Have More Evergreen Songs Than Michael Jackson

Legendary Nigerian Juju musician Sir Shina Peters has claimed that he has produced more enduring songs than the deceased American pop idol, Michael Jackson.

On The Honest Bunch podcast, the 67-year-old veteran musician stated that the most enduring legacy for any musician is crafting songs that remain significant across multiple generations.

“At the end of a show business career, the only thing that truly matters is the number of enduring shows you have created.” To my credit, I have four evergreens too. Even Michael Jackson has just two albums, ‘Of The World’ and ‘Thriller.’ So, having four implies that I am accomplished.

Sir Shina Peters expressed disappointment in the Nigerian music industry’s current state, regretting that many of the standards set by his generation have been “bastardised” by contemporary artists.

At the age of 10, the Juju star started performing and is now one of Nigeria’s most renowned music legends, who is famous for influencing the sound and culture of contemporary Juju music.
