Nigerian Afrobeats artist Simi has prompted significant discussions online after advocating for severe penalties for rapists in light of increasing concerns about sexual violence in the country.

Her remarks coincide with rising reports of sexual assault cases across various regions of Nigeria, heightening public anxiety and outrage. On her X (formerly Twitter) account, the singer expressed her frustration directly.

she stated in a passionate post.
