Ask and you shall receive, at least if you’re Juvenile! On Wednesday, September 17, Shaboozey responded to Juvenile’s request for a country version of “Back That Azz Up.”

Just a few days before that, on Monday, September 15, during the show “We Playin’ Spades,” Juvenile asked if the artist from Virginia could put a new spin on his classic song. “I want Shaboozey to remix ‘Back That Azz Up.’ Make it a country song,” Juvenile said, with Nick Cannon pointing out how exciting the song would be.

“Come on, man. Let’s see it,” Juvenile continued. “I can’t wait to hear it.” It wasn’t long before the video started spreading online, and Shaboozey quickly replied. The artist, known for his song “Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going,” tweeted back to XXL’s post with a simple “Done,” along with a check mark emoji.

Now the only thing left to wonder is how soon fans can listen to it. “You have the chance to create something big here,” one person commented on Shaboozey’s tweet. Another said, “That song might even outshine ‘[A Bar Song (Tipsy)],’ if you ask me.” That’s a bold statement.

The song, which used a beat from J-Kwon’s “Tipsy,” tied with Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” for the longest time at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, staying there for 19 weeks last year. “It was really exciting to bring my style to that space, showcasing a type of music that you don’t usually see at events like that — coming out playing guitar with the dance moves and the fiddle in the background,” Shaboozey told The Cut about performing it with J-Kwon at the 2024 BET Awards.

“He gave me his approval for the song,” he said. “So, it was really a dream come true. ” The song was included in the country artist’s earlier mentioned third studio album, which also featured collaborations with BigXthaPlug and Noah Cyrus.
