Russ – Crazy

Russ has been in preparation for the release of his new album W!LD for several months, and it seems we are now closer than at any point in the past to hearing his thoughts on the LP. Russ’s career has seen a number of solid singles released, with those from the end of March being particularly easy to digest. He appears to be the most content he’s ever been, and this happiness is evident in his music.

Russ exhibited a newfound vitality on “Movin'” and its release date of April 7, displaying genuine enthusiasm in his music. The song “Pent Up In A Penthouse” captures the essence of the musical landscape that Russ emerged in during the 2010s, featuring a minimalist piano loop and drum accompaniment that complements his assertive delivery and lyrics about transformation. “Crazy” is his most recent release, and it aligns more closely with the single “April 7” than his other previous singles.

Russ is smitten and wants everyone to be aware of his feelings. The track, created by Russ in collaboration with Jake Jepson and Kiri Gerbs, features a smooth instrumental. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a focus on creating a laid-back ambiance rather than a high-energy sound for driving. He raps about taking the girl in question on trips and lavishly spoiling her because he can.

Russ remarks, “I think my love language is Apple Pay; I like giving cash away,” around the middle of the second verse. The accompanying music video illustrates this sentiment, depicting Russ island-hopping with a female companion on a high-end yacht. The visuals are pleasant, and the accompanying track is genuinely strong in its own merits. Take a look at “Crazy” below.
