Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old girl, has been identified as the person whose decomposed body was found last week in a d4vd-owned Tesla that had been impounded.

Her remains were discovered in September. Eight minutes after police responded to reports of a “foul odor” coming from the Tesla at an impound lot on N. Forensic testing by the coroner’s office confirmed Rivas’ identity, with the cause of death remaining deferred as of September 17. According to the coroner’s website, forensic testing confirmed Rivas’ identity, though the cause of death was still marked as “deferred” as of Wednesday (Sept. 17).

Rivas’ mother, speaking to TMZ, disclosed that her 13-year-old daughter vanished on April 5, 2024, from Lake Elsinore, California. A missing person’s poster had been circulated, describing the woman as having “wavy hair,” a detail that matched the initial description provided by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. She stood approximately 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighed 71 pounds.

The outlet also reported that Rivas’ boyfriend’s name was David, coincidentally the same as that of the singer d4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke. Despite the overlap, the “Romantic Homicide” singer has been cooperating with authorities during his current North American tour, “The Withered World Tour.”

TMZ also pointed out that Celeste and d4vd each have a “Shhh…” tattoo on their right index fingers. It appears the tattoo itself is not particularly distinctive. Rihanna was a key figure in popularizing the trend in the late 2000s, with other celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan and Lily Allen also adopting it.

In April, d4vd released his debut album WITHERED, which included a single guest appearance by Kali Uchis. This month, he announced that a deluxe edition will be released on Friday, September 19.

The “Withered World Tour” was due to perform at Seattle’s Showbox SoDo tonight, but the concert was said to have been cancelled mere hours before d4vd was supposed to go on stage. It is worth noting that the show occurred at the very end of the musician’s North American tour, with only two remaining dates: San Francisco on Friday (Sept. 19) and Los Angeles on Saturday (Sept. 20).
