Nigerian singer Portable has addressed the ongoing conflict between Wizkid and the Kuti family, delivering a strong critique of the Grammy-winning artist.

In a viral video, Portable expressed his discontent with Wizkid’s statement claiming he is “bigger than Fela,” questioning Wizkid’s influence, relevance, and street credibility in comparison to Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and himself.

Wizkid said he’s the new Fela; has he been to prison before? I’ve been to prison multiple times. I’m bigger than Wizkid,” Portable stated in the video.

He further challenged Wizkid on his contributions to society, asking who the global star has truly supported. “Who you help?” Portable pointed out his efforts, including feeding people on the streets and making a direct impact on lives.

Portable maintained that the title of “new Fela” is tied to sacrifice, struggle, and grassroots influence, qualities he claims Wizkid does not possess. “If anyone should be called the new Fela, it should be me, not Wizkid,” he asserted.

These statements have amplified the social media debate, further polarizing fans regarding Wizkid’s remarks about the Kuti family and the wider conversation surrounding legacy, influence, and credibility in Nigerian music.
