Portable, a Nigerian singer, has issued a formal apology to Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, for his unacceptable behavior towards state officials.

Following an alleged assault by Portable and his crew on some government officials, Portable’s unfinished hotel was subsequently shut down.

Portable referred to himself as a “federal government liability” in a video collage, addressing the government directly. During his apology, Portable requested that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu step in on his behalf, and he sang and prayed for Governor Dapo Abiodun’s understanding.

Portable alleged his problems originated from wearing a garment linked to Senator Adeola Olamilekan, causing others to mistakenly assume he was backing the politician. Town planning officials, accompanied by soldiers, visited his house, leading to the altercation.

Portable’s apology signifies a shift in his behaviour, having previously garnered a reputation for being contentious. Notably, he had previously been paid by the Ogun state government for bringing to light the substandard state of their roads.
