Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, also known as Portable, a well-known singer of street pop music, is now being sought by the Ogun State Police Command in connection with an alleged attack on government representatives from the state.

A statement from the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, revealed that a Magistrate Court in Ogun State had issued a warrant for arrest, based on multiple charges, with these specifically being attempted murder, conspiracy, serious assault, going armed, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

According to a police bulletin, Portable and his associates are accused of assaulting Ogun State town planning officials on February 5, 2025, during a crackdown operation at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu-Ota. Reports indicate that officials TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office, were allegedly attacked while performing their official responsibilities.

The statement revealed that the officials had met Portable’s father at Odogwu Bar and asked for a sanctioned building plan. Upon discovering that the singer was unavailable, Portable and nine others, reportedly carrying firearms and other hazardous weapons, launched a violent assault on the defenceless officials. Law enforcement officials were injured but managed to flee and subsequently filed a report with the Ota Area Command.

Following reports of earlier incidents, aides to Portable were reportedly arrested and taken to court on charges of assaulting state officials. The singer had previously sought forgiveness from Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun following his men’s detention by the governor’s men.

The authorities have stepped up their efforts to arrest Portable and bring him before the law, so he is now wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.
