Nigerian singer Portable has generated significant attention online after expressing his feelings about the late Afrobeat artist Destiny Boy in an emotional tribute.

In a video shared on social media, Portable mourned Destiny Boy, highlighting the difficulties the late singer reportedly encountered in the music industry. He stated,

Destiny Boy, we miss you. He knew how to sing more than Wizkid, but he didn’t have any helper.”

Portable also requested, “God, please don’t let me die young. Make sure you don’t die because there is fake love everywhere.”

He claimed that Destiny Boy faced serious health issues privately and tackled hardships without sufficient support. Portable questioned Destiny Boy’s decision to separate from his former collaborators, the 2T Boys, suggesting that this decision had a negative impact on his struggles.

“I don’t know why he left his helpers, 2T Boys. Everything changed for him when he left them,”

he said. He speculated that if Destiny Boy died at a traditional healer’s location, it was due to his illness and the personal challenges he faced.

Moreover, Portable refuted rumors that Destiny Boy received properties or financial assistance from prominent artists, stating that there was no proof to support such claims.

These reflections come shortly after Portable’s release from prison related to a legal matter involving his fourth baby mama, Ashabi Simple, making his insights on fame, support, and survival in the music industry particularly relevant.
