Playboi Carti brought Rolling Loud California to a close on its second day, and thanks to Kai Cenat, those who did not attend were still able to experience the chaos of Sunday night, March 16. The growing presence of internet personalities at music festivals is undoubtedly an engaging phenomenon, and if it continues at this pace, online streamers will soon be an integral aspect of the festival culture, on par with the live performances.
Following the release of another classic, Playboi Carti took the stage with an intense medley from the extensive 30-track album. He launched the show with a fitting performance of “POP OUT” and subsequently tore through an array of hits including “MOJO JOJO,” “CRUSH,” “GOOD CREDIT” and more. He then passed his Young Vamp Life chain to Cenat and fellow streamer Young Dabo, who both went on to join him in performing.
“Yeah, if everyone’s having a great time tonight, just shout out ‘Hell yeah!'” Cenat yelled after Playboi Carti handed him the microphone. This was an unexpected, yet far from unimpressive moment, especially considering the only other artists to share the stage with the Opium Records leader were Skepta, who performed “TOXIC,” and The Weeknd, who appeared for “RATHER LIE” and “Timeless.”
Twitch Streamers Such as Kai Cenat and Others Contributed to the Launch of ‘MUSIC’.
Streamers are exercising significantly more influence in 2025 than traditional marketing tactics such as playlist placement. Fans who endured MUSIC’s delayed midnight release on Friday, March 14, ultimately relied on Playboi Carti for real-time updates, which were then relayed to live streamers such as DJ Akademiks and Cenat, who broadcast the updates live.
Beyond that, several other artists, such as PlaqueBoyMax, ImDontai, and Young Dabo, jumped onto platforms like Twitch and Kick to respond to the LP once it was released on digital streaming platforms.
Playboi Carti is scheduled to embark on a tour in support of his album ‘MUSIC’ in May.
The rapper’s performance at Rolling Loud California was an adrenaline-fueled, albeit close to being overwhelming, preview of what fans can anticipate from him as an opening act on The Weeknd’s “After Hours Til Dawn Tour.” The event begins on May 9 in Phoenix and ends on September. Three celestial bodies passed through major cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles, Toronto, and Nashville, with two of them shining brightly as stars.
