Peter Okoye Responds After A Recent Court Report Ignites Renewed Controversy

EFCC vs. Jude Okoye Everything to know about the P Square family feud

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, known as Mr P, has addressed a report suggesting that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) informed a Lagos court it lacked evidence to substantiate his claims of financial misconduct against his brothers and former P-Square partners, Paul and Jude Okoye.

This ongoing issue resurfaced following a report by Punch which stated that during a cross-examination at the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja on November 28, 2025, the EFCC’s counsel, Mohammed Bashir, told the court that the agency could not provide evidence to support Peter’s allegation that his brothers fraudulently withdrew $800,000 from their joint company account.

The EFCC lawyer reportedly stated: “We do not have it. It is his evidence. Let him prove it. I can’t give what I don’t have.” Additionally, the publication indicated that the EFCC denied having records of 47 bank accounts that Peter previously claimed were managed by Jude Okoye and mentioned that documents presented in court contradicted Peter’s assertion of owning 80% of Northside Entertainment Ltd.

In response to the news, Peter Okoye firmly refuted the report. In a statement posted on his social media accounts, he characterized the report as “jokes and propaganda,” asserting that no such statement was made in court by the EFCC investigator.

In a subsequent tweet, he stated, “Once again, inaccurate narratives are being presented to the media regarding a court session that did not occur, seemingly aimed at damaging my reputation. Social media should not serve as a judge. #UnaThiefAbiUnaNoThief?”

Peter initially filed a petition in 2024, alleging that Jude misappropriated funds belonging to the P-Square brand, mismanaged their joint company’s financial activities, and did not disclose multiple bank accounts.

The family conflict, which has been a factor in the group’s dissolution, continues to draw public attention, with the latest developments once again highlighting the ongoing dispute.
