Outkast Will Be Honoured By Killer Mike, JID, And Sleepy Brown At The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction

Outkast is being welcomed into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by some familiar faces. The Rock Hall announced over the weekend that Killer Mike, JID, and Sleepy Brown will perform at the induction ceremony for the Atlanta Hip Hop icons. The three artists have a close relationship with André 3000 and Big Boi, having been a part of their career spanning over 30 years. The ceremony will take place in November. Eight in Los Angeles.

Sleepy Brown is an original member of Organized Noize, a production company he co-founded with Ray Murray and the late Rico Wade. The team of producers played a pivotal role in crafting the sound that Outkast used to become superstars of the Hip Hop genre. Alongside Outkast, Goodie Mob, and other artists, they formed the Dungeon Family. The collective named themselves after “The Dungeon,” the basement studio in which they created their initial hits, such as Outkast’s classic debut, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.

Killer Mike was a key figure in the Dungeon Family’s next generation. The Monster rapper, discovered by Outkast, featured on their Grammy Award-winning single “The Whole World” from the 2001 compilation album “Big Boi & Dre Present…OutKast.” Killer Mike has also gained a significant amount of notoriety as a member of the hip-hop duo Run The Jewels, which he forms with rapper and producer El-P.

The critically acclaimed rapper JID is being praised as part of a current group of southern artists that are lauded for their lyricism. The native of Atlanta frequently attributes Outkast as a significant inspiration to his artistic style.

Outkast will be joining a Rock Hall that now comprises fellow rap luminaries such as A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, Tupac Shakur and N.W.A. This year’s inductees also comprise Hip Hop trailblazers Salt-N-Pepa, Cyndi Lauper, The White Stripes, Joe Cocker and Chubby Checker.

The 40th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be taking place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
