Olamide Explains How Wizkid Ended Up On ‘Billionaires Club’

Nigerian rap icon Olamide has disclosed the unforeseen method in which Wizkid came to be featured on Billionaires Club, one of the notable tracks from his most recent album, Olamide.

During a recent conversation with Adesope Shopsydoo, a well-known media personality, Olamide clarified that the initial intention was for Wizkid to make a cameo appearance in Kai!. While they were filming the video for that song, events took a different course.

Olamide said “We didn’t plan it that way.” The intention was solely for it to be for Kai. As we were on location for the video, I played him a few tracks from the album. He was a fan of the Billionaires Club and expressed a desire to join it.

This spontaneous decision provided fans with a second collaboration between Olamide and Wizkid within the same project. The track, which also features British-Nigerian artist Darkoo, has since become a fan favorite, with its video accumulating millions of views online.

The story showcases the effortless chemistry between Olamide and Wizkid, two artists whose friendship and collaborations date back over a decade to their 2011 hit single Omo To Shan.

Olamide’s Olamidé album, which was released on June 19, 2025, has garnered praise for effectively combining distinct sounds while maintaining the distinctive lyrical complexity that is characteristic of his work, and the Wizkid feature has been a major point of discussion.
