Shaboozey and BigXThaPlug made a notable appearance at the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards on November 19. Shaboozey received a standing ovation for his performance alongside singer Stephen Wilson Jr.

The event took place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, beginning with Luke Combs, who later joined BigXThaPlug on stage. The pair performed “Pray Hard,” from BigX’s latest album, I Hope You’re Happy, which was released in August 2025. This album, a blend of Hip Hop and country, received critical acclaim.

BigX is recognized as a traditional rapper, while Shaboozey gained prominence within the country genre. His 2024 hit, “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” was significantly boosted by a co-sign from Beyoncé, as he featured on her COWBOY CARTER album. The song reached the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and set records for its duration at No. 1 on the Billboard Radio Songs chart. During the awards show, Lainey Wilson performed a segment of “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” with Shaboozey, who was present in the audience.

Shaboozey has demonstrated his ability beyond a single hit by also performing his newer single, “Took A Walk,” from the soundtrack of the film The Long Walk. The stage setup reflected the movie’s theme, resembling a field, while Shaboozey walked along a path to perform and approached Wilson, who played guitar. Their performance, enhanced by a full band, garnered another standing ovation.

In addition to receiving applause, Shaboozey was nominated for New Artist of the Year, an award ultimately won by Zach Top at the 59th annual ceremony.
