NBA YoungBoy Is Set To Release A Concert Documentary In Collaboration With 38 Films And Nico Ballestero

YoungBoy Never Broke Again is set to bring his stage performance to both film formats. On Wednesday (Jan. 14), the Baton Rouge rapper announced his upcoming concert documentary.

The project will be produced by Foundation Media Partners in partnership with NBA YoungBoy’s production company, 38 Films. According to Variety, Nico Ballesteros, director of Kanye West’s documentary In Whose Name?, has been selected to direct this film.

NBA YoungBoy is not just an artist — he’s a cultural force,” said Patrick Hughes, CEO of Foundation Media Partners. “Through Nico’s vision, this film captures that energy honestly and cinematically, while giving audiences a real window into who he is beyond the stage.”

NBA YoungBoy’s success as a touring artist is notable. His 2025 “Make America Slime Again Tour” achieved significant success and is projected to be one of the highest-grossing rap tours in history. Additionally, he was recently announced as one of the headliners for Rolling Loud 2026, scheduled for May in Orlando, Florida.

The documentary will feature stage performances as well as an exploration of YoungBoy’s cultural impact and the personal realities of touring at a high level, as reported by Variety.

These realities may include the controversies surrounding the rapper. For instance, a second scheduled concert in Atlanta was canceled in October 2025 due to an alleged incident involving YoungBoy’s entourage. Despite this, fans turned the situation into a spontaneous outdoor gathering. YoungBoy has also faced various rap feuds, and in late 2024, he managed to avoid jail time by pleading guilty to prescription drug fraud charges and paying a fine.

No timeline has been announced for the documentary’s release yet, but Foundation Media Partners and 38 Films are reportedly planning both streaming and theatrical rollouts.
