NAV – UNLIMITED ft. Playboi Carti & The Weeknd

NAV UNLIMITED Playboi Carti The Weeknd

It’s been a while since NAV has collaborated on a song with either Playboi Carti or The Weeknd. Their last collaboration together was the 2017 song “Minute”. The cut featured on the self-proclaimed Brown Boy’s album was with Metro Boomin, titled Perfect Timing. Abel has not collaborated with his fellow XO artist since their album “Bad Habits,” specifically on the track “Price On My Head.” The reason for that has been largely due to NAV’s three-year hiatus. Additionally, Carti and The Weeknd were either in the midst of completing trilogies or were procrastinating and taking an eternity to release their subsequent albums.

It’s taken a similar amount of time for NAV to return to the studio with these two superstars as it has for this demo to be released. “UNLIMITED” is the definitive version of a 2020 collaboration between Kanye West and Carti, which was initially considered a non-essential track. The track was previously owned by Offset, who also gave it the title “ROCK OUT”. He was collaborating with Playboi on this song as well, and it was scheduled to appear on the album SET IT OFF. The second version of the verse was ultimately discarded. Five years after its initial release, “UNLIMITED” stands out as one of the notable tracks on NAV’s OMW2 REXDALE project. This song has all the makings of a classic summer hit. The tracklist maintains its moodier tone with a MIKE DEAN-esque outro featuring The Weeknd’s heavenly harmonies.
