Tupac Shakur’s brother Mopreme can now be added to the list of individuals expressing doubt about Drake’s recent actions. A Toronto rapper has recently bought what’s claimed to be a piece of jewellery previously owned by a deceased rapper, and Mopreme strongly expressed his disapproval of the action.

The 6 God posted what’s believed to be Pac’s Death Row Records pendant on Instagram on August 23. Drizzy later purchased the historic piece of jewelry from collector Alexander Bitar for a sum allegedly exceeding a very high amount.

Mopreme Shakur is the stepbrother of Tupac. The rapper was also an original member of the Outlawz and a member of the Hip Hop group Thug Life, where he performed under the moniker Komani. He recently appeared on Loren Lorosa’s “The Latest” podcast and, upon being asked about Drake’s new chain, he spoke openly, also drawing a connection to another contentious remark made by the “Hotline Bling” rapper.

“My man needs to think more about his actions,” said Mopreme Shakur. Having just witnessed it in London, I overheard the comment, ‘London boasts the best rappers.’ London rappers outperform their American counterparts. So why are you so desperate to find the king of rap’s jewels, literally gems? If the UK has the best rappers, why are you pursuing this? I’m not sure, but I believe the family should have all of Pac’s belongings. Results are not always as anticipated. For my part, that’s how I feel.

The chain’s authenticity was soon called into question. Suge Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records who is currently incarcerated, stated in an interview for The Art Of Dialogue: “That’s not 2Pac’s chain.” This is not a Death Row record. You need to go find the person who sold you that chain, Drake, and give him a serious piece of your mind.

It’s not advisable to suspect Drake of harming someone, but it may be worth verifying the origin of expensive collector’s items.

A part of the late rapper’s memorabilia collection, in addition to the chain, is also found in Drake’s collection. According to reports, he spent over $1 million at a Sotheby’s auction in 2023 to purchase Pac’s crown ring, which is the same one Kendrick Lamar referenced in his 2024 “The Pop Out” concert with the lyrics, “Give me Tupac ring back and I might give you a little respect.”
