The trial of Metro Boomin on charges of sexual assault is currently in progress. The producer made an appearance in a Los Angeles courtroom on September 23, a Tuesday, in connection with allegations lodged by Vanessa LeMaistre, who alleges she awoke to find herself being raped by the “Trance” producer.

She met Metro, whose real name is Leland Wayne, in Las Vegas in 2016, and subsequently visited him at his studio in Los Angeles on multiple occasions. At that point, she claimed to have shared with him that she had lost her 9-month-old son, as Complex reported.

At the time in question, LeMaistre remembered taking half a Xanax and “a few sips” of alcohol at the studio before falling asleep. She then reportedly awoke in a different location, where she was lying on a bed, with the producer positioned on top of her.

Following the alleged incident, LeMaistre claimed that a Metro employee gave her a ride back to the studio, where her vehicle was parked. “I genuinely believed that rape is what you typically see on television, stranger danger, where someone suddenly appears and takes you away,” she said.

Metro’s defense team has rejected the allegations. LeMaistre’s lawyer claimed his client pursued the lawsuit due to financial motives and because his client was no longer receiving attention after their last sexual encounter.

Hinkle explained that we are here because she believed my client could resolve her financial difficulties. She made a claim that he had sexually assaulted her, anticipating that he would pay her off to keep the matter discreet and expedient. Metro, who is standing trial in order to publicly clear his name, is expected to give sworn testimony in his own defence, alongside two expert witnesses.

LeMaistre is seeking compensation in the amount of $3.4 million to $3.7 million. Meghann Cuniff, a legal journalist, claimed that LeMaistre also hopes the lawsuit will “go viral” by having individuals tag both Metro and 21 Savage’s social media profiles. Her filing referenced the London-born rapper’s verse on “Rap Saved Me” from his 2017 album Without Warning.

A verdict in the trial is anticipated by Friday, September 26. The trial is expected to come to verdict by Friday (Sept. 26).
