On September 24, Metro Boomin took the stand at his civil trial for sexual assault on Wednesday. The producer firmly maintained his innocence, taking the stand to dispute the claims made by Vanessa LeMaistre.

The alleged victim asserts that in 2016, she lost consciousness at a Los Angeles studio following the consumption of alcohol and the ingestion of a Xanax, and awoke to find herself being sexually assaulted by Metro Boomin — whose given name is Leland Tyler Wayne. The creator of NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPE S had a different account to give on the stand. Metro Boomin testified under oath that he did not rape LeMaistre, claiming his late mother had instilled better values in him. Cuniff also posted on the same platform about the trial.

“I’m not getting too deep, but my mom and I worked very hard to establish a reputable brand and reputation for myself and my endeavours,” he started. I’ll be blamed for something entirely out of the question. I’m absolutely stunned to be living this moment, let alone being in this position, or squandering both my time and everybody else’s with this.”

Metro Boomin asserts that he had sexual relations with LeMaistre on two separate occasions. On Tuesday, September 23, Metro’s attorney Lawrence Hinkle informed the court that his client had stopped showing her attention after their last sexual encounter and she was seeking a financial reward. Hinkle stated that they are here because her financial problems could be resolved by his client. She then made a claim that he had sexually assaulted her, anticipating he would simply write a cheque to resolve the situation expediently and discreetly.

The defense also called April Thames, UCLA’s chief of psychology, to testify, who was retained by Metro Boomin’s legal team to evaluate LeMaistre. The professor testified that she has “borderline personality disorder with psychotic features, post-traumatic stress disorder, and major depressive disorder,” as stated by Cuniff.

Thames stated that her psychological functioning has been this way for a very long time. Throughout her life, there have been periods where her condition improves sometimes, while at other times it deteriorates, which appears to be directly related to whether or not she’s receiving treatment. I do not believe there is a link between this situation and the claims that have been made regarding it.

Metro Boomin’s lawyers are also claiming that there are inconsistencies in LeMaistre’s testimony from Tuesday. She stated that she had a 10-month relationship with rapper Lil Wayne. During cross-examination, Metro Boomin’s attorney suggested that this assertion was not accurate.

LeMaistre is claiming damages ranging from $3.4 million to $3.7 million. Closing arguments are due to take place on Thursday, September 25.
