Metro Boomin has uncovered a new song from the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Soundtrack. He shared “Calling” with fans on his official YouTube channel earlier today. Metro Boomin, NAV, and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie collaborated on the track, which also features Swae Lee. The entire Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Soundtrack is produced by Metro Boomin, and is available for pre-save now. The full soundtrack comes out on the same day as the film, June 2.
Metro Boomin confirmed that A Boogie Wit da Hoodie and Swae Lee would be a part of the soundtrack yesterday, along with announcements of various other artists to be featured on the soundtrack. He shared various posts on Instagram revealing that Offset, A$AP Rocky, and more would make appearances. Earlier today, he revealed that fans can also expect to hear Lil Wayne, Nas, and 2 Chainz on the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Soundtrack. The soundtrack for the upcoming film was officially announced earlier this month on Metro’s Instagram.
The new track was shared with fans alongside an accompanying animated music video with visuals referencing the new movie. Complete with mellow vocals and orchestral touches, “Calling” showcases a heartfelt, emotional side of the artists.
During his recent set at Montréal’s Metro Metro Festival, NAV surprised fans by bringing Metro Boomin out on stage. The artists claimed that a follow-up to their 2017 collaboration, Perfect Timing, is on the way. They said, “We got that ‘Perfect Timing 2‘ on the way, n***as is waiting on it! Wait on it! Wait on it!” An exact release-date that listeners can expect to hear the new album has not yet been confirmed.
