Megan Thee Stallion’s foray into the K-pop genre remains ongoing. Apple TV+ announced on Wednesday, February 5, that the rapper from Houston will collaborate with PSY, the creator of the hit song “Gangnam Style,” for its upcoming song battle series, “KPOPPED.”

The show, which consists of eight episodes, will feature “Western icons reworking one of their most popular songs” and “partnering with high-ranking K-pop artists to put on impressive battle performances.” Each episode on Apple TV+ will showcase a live performance of the revised song, with a “Seoul-based audience selecting the winner of the best new K-pop song.”

The series is anticipated to feature Megan, who also serves as an executive producer, performing her Grammy-winning single “Savage” at some stage. Although an official release date has not been announced, Apple TV+ has provided fans with a preview of one of her appearances.

Megan has ventured into the world of K-pop on numerous occasions, with an increased presence in 2024. In Act II, Megan collaborated with BTS’ RM on the track “Neva Play” following her appearance on the group’s remix of “Butter” in 2021. She tapped the track again TWICE to play “Mamushi (Remix).”

After we had recorded, it became apparent that we meshed together quite well, far more harmoniously than we had initially anticipated. She went on to say that Megan’s style significantly improved our contribution to the music. During the music video shoot, Megan expressed a desire to learn Korean, and she repeatedly used the word “귀여운” which translates to ‘cute’. Saying “you’re very cute” or “that’s really cute” to someone.

Meanwhile, Megan is scheduled to perform at FanDuel and Spotify’s Super Bowl LIX event on Friday, February 7. Anderson .Paak, who is also known as DJ Pee Wee, will be spinning the music that night.
