The holiday season has prompted R&B artists to perform classic songs. On the evening of December 1, Mariah the Scientist and Coco Jones celebrated Christmas with their performances during “The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular.”

Hosted by Derek Hough, this tenth annual special aired on ABC, with availability on Hulu and Disney+ the following day, December 2. Jones delivered a beautiful rendition of “Silent Night” beneath the Tree of Life.

She sang, “All is calm, all is bright / Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child / Holy Infant so tender and mild / Sleep in heavenly, oh so heavenly, peace,” before being joined by a choir halfway through. After the song, Jones wished everyone a happy holiday from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Later in the broadcast, Jones and several cast members discussed their favorite holiday songs, with her selecting “Silent Night.” Subsequently, Mariah appeared on screen alongside the Rafiki and Timon mascots from The Lion King.

Mariah asked, “Can I take a selfie? My mom’s a huge fan,” before performing Eartha Kitt’s “Santa Baby” at Pandora – The World of Avatar. She sang, “Come and trim my Christmas tree / With some decorations bought at Tiffany’s / I really do believe in you / Let’s see if you believe in me.”

Looking ahead, Jones is scheduled to perform during the pregame entertainment for Super Bowl XI on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, as announced on November 30. She will sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and, a week prior, fans will learn if her album, Why Not More?, secures the Best R&B Album award at the 68th annual Grammy Awards.

Mariah, meanwhile, did not receive any nominations for the 2026 ceremony. In a conversation with Fashion Bomb Daily last month, she shared her feelings about this outcome, stating, “I’m not saying that I was happy about it, but I didn’t want to make any expectations to begin with. Maybe next time.”
