Makhadzi Speaks Up Following A Car Accident, Announces A 10-Week Hiatus From Performing

Award-winning Limpopo musician Makhadzi has addressed her fans following a recent car accident. She has assured them that she is recovering but will need to take an extended break from live performances.

The artist, whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, expressed her gratitude on social media on Monday for the overwhelming support she has received since news of the incident emerged. The accident reportedly took place on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, while she was traveling from Limpopo to Johannesburg, raising concerns among her fans both locally and internationally.

In a heartfelt message to her dedicated fanbase, the Khadzinators, Makhadzi shared that she has been discharged from the hospital and is now recuperating at home with her family’s support. She noted that her doctors have recommended a 10-week period of home care due to her injuries, which means she will not be performing during that time.

“Thank you for the love and support you have been showing me during this difficult time,” she stated. “I feel a need to update you about my health because of the love you’ve shown me, not only in South Africa but across the African continent.”

While acknowledging the challenge of staying away from the stage, Makhadzi conveyed a hopeful outlook, describing herself as resilient and confident in her recovery. She expressed appreciation that her voice was unharmed in the accident, calling it a blessing.

“I am slowly recovering well, trusting the process,” she mentioned, revealing that she plans to use her recovery time to work on new music.

“Ten weeks might look like I will be lonely, but I believe God is giving me time to write beautiful melodies,” she said, indicating that the experience has provided her with renewed purpose and gratitude. She also expressed thanks for what she considered a “second chance to breathe.”

Makhadzi concluded her message by sending love to her fans and assuring them of her return when she is fully healed. The update was met with widespread support online, as fans and fellow artists wished her a speedy recovery while she focuses on her health and new creative projects.
