Logic – Old Logic

Logic Old Logic

Logic has released a Throwback Thursday-inspired song this week with his track “Old Logic.” The gesture is a thoughtful tribute to the beginning of his career, especially the Sinatra mixtapes that created a huge commotion at their height. On this track, he’s still very capable of rapping his tail back and forth, despite being at a point in his career where some might see the end of his run looming.

He highlights the .45 caliber while it’s firing, “Goddamn, this is Logic at thirty-five, it’s so revolting,” he notes on the second verse.

He showcases a multitude of rhyme schemes and patterns on “Old Logic.” A significant majority find them highly satisfying. With the sharpness of Hanzo Steel, the remainder is unclear / I lose control when drinking Goose and rhyme like Dr. Seuss / My flow is smooth like a noose, I assert dominance like Bruce, offering no room for a truce.

This verse showcases his lyrical skill, also paying tribute to the rapper and producer he is sampling in this track. He exhibits flawless respect for MF DOOM’s and J Dilla’s “GAZZILLION EAR” from BORN LIKE THIS. The second beat of the instrumental, combined with the forceful rhymes, is all included.

It will be intriguing to see what Logic achieves with his album “Old Logic.”

The Maryland-based musician is gearing up to create the soundtrack for his upcoming film, Paradise Records, which is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. It appears he is also actively involved with Sidequest, a project that could potentially become his next long-play release. This loose track is likely to be one of the best of 2025, even if it doesn’t receive a permanent release.
