After impressing us with everything he’s delivered so far this year, Lloyd Banks markedly continues to set the tone for a strong 2023 with his latest single, “Movie Scenes.” The solo effort follows early January’s link-up with RJ Payne on “BANKS MEETS PAYNE,” as well as last weekend’s “101 Razors” with legendary lyricist Method Man, which listeners have been loving. This New Music Friday (March 31), the 40-year-old teamed up with producer George Getson to drop off one of the most undeniably impressive songs we’ve heard in a minute.
“Karma’s comin’ in, no more drama / I’m a motherf*ckin’ big-timer / Flowers, handed to me by the hour / Honour, got me money and the power (My n*gga),” he chiefly boasts on the track’s infectious chorus. “China, Faux-Filet Mignon and lobster / Designer, 580 my recliner / Karma’s comin’ in, no more drama / I’m a motherf*ckin’ big timer (Uh).” As Rap Radar notes, “Movie Scenes” marks the second single from Banks’ forthcoming project, The Course of the Inevitable 3: Pieces Of My Pain, which he announced earlier this month, much to audience’s delight.
The album follows last July’s highly favoured The Course of the Inevitable 2, on which Banks connected with collaborators like Tony Yayo, Benny The Butcher, Vado, and Dave East. Of the 14 tracks included on that project, a few of the most popular titles include “Menace” featuring Conway the Machine as well as a solo effort called “Fell In Love.” Aside from Method Man, fans are eager to hear who the Maryland native will work with on the upcoming TCOTI 3.
