Lizzo anticipates that more celebrities will align with conservative views in the upcoming years. On December 24, she shared her perspective on Nicki Minaj, who expressed support for Donald Trump at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest the previous weekend.

In a now-deleted TikTok video, Lizzo mentioned receiving messages about Nicki and not being initially aware of the situation. After researching, she commented that her opinion on Minaj wasn’t significant because, in her view, “Celebrities’ opinions of other celebrities does not matter.”

The Grammy Award-winning artist noted, “You’re about to see an influx of people who see that it is more profitable and more beneficial to join that side. You’re going to see it. It already started, and it’s going to continue.”

Lizzo also pointed out that it is only “Trump’s first year as president,” suggesting, “We got three more years of people who are going to surprise you, and it’s going to hurt your feelings. It’s gonna disappoint you… There’s money behind everything. There are privileges behind every move [that] people in these positions make.”

She concluded the video by expressing that she is “not surprised” by the current developments. Several rappers have shown support for Trump in the past, including Kanye West and Kodak Black, the latter of whom received a pardon during Trump’s first term.

Recently, Soulja Boy, Nelly, and Rick Ross performed at January’s inaugural Crypto Ball, which celebrated Trump’s presidency as the 47th U.S. President. In response to criticism for participating in the event, Soulja Boy remarked, “They paid me a bag. Obama ain’t never put no money in my f**king pockets, n**ga… Trump put money in my pockets, n**ga.”

Regarding Minaj’s political involvement, she told Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, that she felt “tired of being pushed around.” At AmericaFest, she described Trump and Vice President JD Vance as “powerful men,” noting their ability to connect with people.
