Here is a complete list of all winners across various categories at the MTV Video Music Awards that took place in 2025.

The MTV Video Music Awards ceremony, its 42nd annual edition, took place on September 7, 2025, at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, with LL Cool J hosting the event that featured a star-studded lineup. Lady Gaga received 12 nominations, and as the evening’s standout winner, she took home a total of four Moon Person awards, including the highly prized Artist of the Year honour.

The ceremony also paid tribute to music icons, including Mariah Carey, who received her long-awaited Video Vanguard Award, as well as Busta Rhymes and Ricky Martin, with Busta Rhymes being honored with the inaugural Rock the Bells Visionary Award and Ricky Martin with the Latin Icon Award.

Ariana Grande won Video of the Year and Best Pop for her song “Brighter Days Ahead,” while Rosé & Bruno Mars took home Song of the Year for “APT.” Alex Warren was named Best New Artist, and Sabrina Carpenter secured Best Album for her album Short n’ Sweet. Tyla also won Best Afrobeats, marking a global victory.
