Lil Tecca may have just created one of the top songs for when you’re in that feel-good frame of mind this summer. The Queens, New York-based rapper’s new album, DOPAMINE, features “Half The Plot” as one of 17 tracks. Republic Records and UMG released it on last Friday, June 13.
The song’s chorus perfectly captures the tone that the upcoming verses should convey, with Lil Tecca delivering his lines in a carefree, nonchalant manner. While he celebrates his successes, he also acknowledges the problems that arise from the fame and wealth he has earned through his efforts.
Despite facing numerous challenges in his life, he’s currently ignoring them. It’s been a while since I’ve thought about this, my mind immediately goes straight to the sound of the dial tone / I’m so exhausted, I’m not sure if I’m feeling good or bad / We’re heading straight to the main topic, let’s talk about those bands, you know.
This song is likely to be one of the many successful singles from the album DOPAMINE, which already has two certified hit songs. The album opens with the lead singles, “OWA OWA” and “Dark Thoughts”.
