Fans of R&B music will be pleased to learn that Leon Thomas has more to offer from his MUTT era. A deluxe edition of the singer-producer’s work is reportedly being released, featuring an impressive array of well-known artists.

On February 25, during an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, the artist behind the song “Slow Down” revealed that he is currently working on remixes for the expanded edition of the project, which is expected to be released in the coming months. The guest appearances that fans can anticipate are particularly exhilarating.

Thomas playfully mentioned that he acquired some fantastic features from old acquaintances, ones the world has grown to appreciate. He then revealed that he and Kehlani have a β€œreally great song” included on the upcoming release: β€œIt’s extremely well-crafted.” The Grammy Award winner went on to say, “I have a collaboration with Big Sean, and I’m really excited about it.” Halle Bailey is truly incredible.

Leon Thomas Intends To Feature Women Prominently On ‘MUTT (Deluxe)

In addition to the artists mentioned earlier, Thomas mentioned that there are additional feature collaborations in the pipeline, but he cannot disclose further information at this time as he is currently awaiting receipt of the necessary audio components. It remains uncertain how many new songs will be included in the 48-minute project, but one thing is evident: He’s concentrating on getting women engaged.

The deluxe version of the album appears to be a departure from the original, which included guest appearances by Masego, Wale, Ty Dolla Sign, Freddie Gibbs, and Axl Folie. Notably, out of the 14 tracks, only one collaboration was with a female artist, “I USED TO,” which paired him with Baby Rose.

MUTT could have been considered a late entry for Album of the Year in 2024, but it was undoubtedly a powerful contender nonetheless. Earlier this month, Thomas visited NPR’s office to perform a “Tiny Desk Concert,” during which he re-performed “VIBES DON’T LIE,” “YES IT IS,” and, naturally, the title track.
