Kevin Abstract is back with another creative record, as hinted by his stage name, and this new project is titled “GEEZER,” which incorporates a feature from singer, rapper, and actor Dominic Fike. This collaboration marks Kevin’s second joint project, following his 2019 release “Peach” from the album ARIZONA BABY.
The track holds a unique significance as it is the lead single for the ex-BROCKHAMPTON artist’s upcoming solo album, Blush. According to Hypebeast, the release date is scheduled for June 27. According to Genius, the project is shaping up to be quite impressive, with potential contributions from notable artists including JPEGMAFIA, The Kid LAROI, Danny Brown, Quadeca, and others.
This will be Kevin Abstract’s fourth solo LP, with American Boyfriend: A Suburban Love Story, ARIZONA BABY, and 2023’s Blanket preceding it.
The chemistry between him and Fike on “GEEZER” is outstanding, a sentiment that’s well-deserved. They also possess some excellent comedic flair. They playfully rap about the fear of not pursuing their aspirations.
The parent element plays a significant role in encouraging listeners to consider that they are not restricted to one particular path in life. I had told her, “I used to rely on you completely,” / What changed? / She replied, “Dad, you grew older and then you messed up my plans,” Fike raps.
