Kehlani shared that they are getting ready for surgery to finally fix a hernia they’ve been dealing with for some time.

On Tuesday, September 9, the singer of “Nights Like This” let everyone know this news on Instagram Stories: “Last two days with my hernia. Say goodbye,” they posted, with some blowing-kiss emojis.

In July, Kehlani talked about the hernia after some fans thought it was a tumor. “Yes, I have a hernia. That’s the bump above my stomach,” the artist posted online, mentioning that they “talk about this once a week. ” They added, “You all care so much. No, it’s not a tumor. That’s my intestine. ”

Some might remember that Kehlani had to have emergency surgery for a hernia in 2017, which made them cancel part of their “SweetSexySavage World Tour” in Europe. (According to the Mayo Clinic, hernias happen when organs push through the muscles or tissues around them, creating a bulge. )

Later, Kehlani talked about that experience again while denying rumors about having cosmetic surgery on their abs. “I’ve already had my hernia fixed once, but that didn’t work because I’m allergic to mesh,” they wrote on their Stories. “I will always speak for myself when people misinterpret my words, especially when it can be harmful. ”

Since the “It Was Good Until It Wasn’t” artist has gone through this before, they will at least know what to expect this time. Meanwhile, we are hoping they have an easy surgery and recover quickly!

Aside from health issues, 2025 has turned out to be a wonderful year for Kehlani. “Folded,” which came out in June, became their most successful solo single, reaching No. 35 on the Hot 100. It was also the first song by the Oakland native to get into the Top 10 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart, partly because of the popularity of its simpler “(un)Folded” version.
