A$AP Relli is getting some unexpected help with legal matters. A judge advised the Harlem rapper to think carefully before suing A$AP Rocky and suggested he try to resolve things without going to court first.

Back in February 2025, A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was found not guilty of serious assault charges. This event took place in 2021 when Relli, whose real name is Terell Ephron, claimed that the rapper shot him during a fight in Hollywood.

It has been reported that Relli plans to file a lawsuit against Rocky for civil assault and battery. He is also thinking about suing for defamation because he believes Rocky and his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, falsely accused him of being a scam artist. However, in a phone hearing, Los Angeles Judge Randolph M. Hammock warned Relli that pursuing his case could be very expensive.

According to Rolling Stone, Judge Hammock advised Relli to reach out to the other party to see if they could settle. He suggested that if Relli dropped the lawsuit, maybe Rocky would also give up on asking for legal fees. The judge mentioned, “Maybe you should think about cutting your losses. ”

The judge was clear, saying, “This isn’t just a small amount of money. It would easily add up to tens of thousands. ”

On the other hand, Relli shared that he is already over $500,000 in debt because of this case, and his law firm has left him. He said, “Now, I have to handle this myself. I’m just trying to stand up for my rights,” and he is currently acting as his own lawyer.

Despite some fans and news outlets suggesting that it might have been smarter for Rocky to accept a plea deal, he kept his popularity during the trial. After a three-week trial, where his girlfriend Rihanna attended to support him, A$AP Rocky was cleared of two serious gun charges.
