Joey Bada$$ audaciously chose to initiate a feud with the West Coast at the beginning of 2025 with his triumphant and fiery single, “The Ruler’s Back.” In this track, he aimed some quite direct jabs at the formidable Kendrick Lamar. Although Kendrick did not respond, he was consistently inundated by numerous MCs.

TDE’s Ray Vaughn was the first to retaliate and managed to hold his ground at various moments. Eventually, he was joined by battle rapper Daylyt, REASON, Az Chike, and many others. Nevertheless, for the majority, Joey Bada$$ remained the undisputed victor.

Now, fresh from this remarkable triumph, the “Beast Coast boogeyman” returns with the same energy he exhibited during the battle. “ABK” (Anybody Killa) is equally fierce and self-assured, featuring an abundance of quotable lines.

“I’m on some rap Rapper-punzel sh*t, tell ’em I’ll be here long / I got hands for n****s that bear arms / Make no mistake, I came to put some heads on the stake,” he declares at the beginning of his second verse.

Once again, Joey’s Pro Era label mate Kirk Knight excels in complementing the MC’s bravado with a high-energy and multifaceted instrumental.

Adding to the excitement of this record is the fact that it appears to be a single for an upcoming project. Joey disclosed on an Instagram Story that “ABK” would be available on DSPs following a performance of it on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Additionally, it was noted that “#LONELYATTHEOP” was included. Jelly Roll confirmed that this would be the title when he introduced Bada$$ to the stage in this clip here. While a release date has not been provided, witnessing Joey’s return with such intensity is certainly a delight.
