Jaden Smith Becomes The First Male Creative Director At Christian Louboutin

Jaden Smith is going to Paris. On Wednesday, September 17, it was revealed that he is the first male creative director for Christian Louboutin, about 15 years after the designer started making clothes for men.

The artist known for “Icon” will be in charge of making four men’s collections every year that include shoes, leather items, and other accessories, according to WWD. Also, he will have an important part in brand promotions, events, and other creative experiences, allowing Louboutin to focus more on women’s fashion.

“Combining my ideas with Christian’s feels easy because we view things in a similar way. We both value creative freedom, which is why it works,” Jaden said in a statement. “I want to keep the history alive while also influencing the future with my own views. ”

“It’s more than just a title — it’s a creative space,” he continued. “Christian has given me a chance to explore, learn, and create without restrictions. His legacy is based on hard work and happiness, and I want to continue that. ” Jaden’s first special collection for the brand will be shown at the men’s Paris Fashion Week in January, with the official launch in stores and online later that month. In May, his Fall/Winter 2026 collection will be ready for sale.

“When I first met Jaden, I immediately felt he belonged with us,” Louboutin shared, recalling when he first met the musician and son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith in 2019. “His perspective is rich and varied, his style and cultural understanding are inspiring, and his curiosity and openness are amazing. ”

Over the last year, it has become more common for fashion brands and lifestyle companies to hire rappers for leadership roles. For example, Pharrell took over as Louis Vuitton’s men’s creative director in 2023 after Virgil Abloh.

In 2025, A$AP Rocky was named Ray-Ban’s first-ever creative director in February, and SZA took on the role of Vans’ first artistic director in August.

“When I first met Jaden, I saw in him a natural fit for the Maison,” said Louboutin, who first connected with the musician and son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith in 2019. “His world is rich and multidimensional, his style and cultural sensibility are inspiring, and his curiosity and openness are remarkable. ”
