Ice Spice appreciates all the valuable advice she has gotten from Taylor Swift. In her interview with NYLON published on Wednesday (Sept. 10), the rapper from the Bronx remembered one important piece of advice from her close friend, who also worked with her on “Karma (Remix). ”

She began by saying how Swift is really genuine, especially for someone as famous as she is. “I’m serious, but one of the most important things I always remember that Taylor told me is, ‘As long as you keep creating music, everything will be okay,’” Ice Spice explained to the magazine.

The rapper, who has been nominated for a Grammy, emphasized that Swift doesn’t just give advice every time they chat. “We usually talk about what we’re eating or whatever is happening right now,” she said. But when they do discuss music, Ice Spice said Swift’s comments really resonate with her: “Whenever I feel unsure or not very confident, whether it’s writer’s block or anything else, her words really stick with me.”

Ice Spice remembered, “She told me that a few years back, and it’s still with me.” Their friendship grew stronger with their song “Karma (Remix),” which got over 5 million streams right after it was released and broke Nicki Minaj’s record at that time. That same month, they performed the song together during Swift’s “Eras Tour” at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Throughout the years, they have both shown support for one another in public. Ice Spice was one of the many artists who recognized Swift’s THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT last year.

Regarding her own music, Ice Spice is preparing to start a new chapter with her song “Baddie Baddie,” which includes a sample from M. I. A.’s “Bad Girls. ” She first hinted at the new song in August and confirmed that a music video will be released along with the single when it comes out. “I’m really excited to share a visual above all, and I plan to take my time,” she told NYLON. “When I release this video, I want my fans to really enjoy it.”
