Hurricane Wisdom – Drugs Callin Remix ft. Lil Baby

Hurricane Wisdom Lil Baby Drugs Callin

Hurricane Wisdom is a young rapper from Tallahassee who is likely to emulate Lil Baby’s style of melancholic, stripped-back, and measured trap-inspired hip-hop. Their new collaboration, the “Drugs Callin Remix,” breathes new life into a standout track on Hurricane’s February album Perfect Storm, although referring to it as a rework is inaccurate.

Instead, this is a new verse set to the same cold, simple, and percussively sharp beat, which samples Future’s “Perkys Calling.” Only resonant and repetitive piano chord hits supply any melody or colour on this instrumental, while the drums strike back with significantly more force. The track showcases the rappers’ use of hushed and warbled vocal styles when discussing their hardships.

Hurricane Wisdom has remixed a hot single by tapping a star before. Giannis, in collaboration with Chicago’s own Polo G, topped the list at the beginning of the year. Since then, the Florida spitter has also offered “Winter’s Over” in collaboration with Murda Beatz and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.

Lil Baby is currently working on a new project titled The Leak$. Features like Playboi Carti and Young Thug had fans excited, yet they remain uncertain about his upcoming Dominique album, which he had been hinting at in the preceding months.

The lyricist behind “Momma Don’t Worry” is reportedly working on something new. His verse on “Drugs Callin Remix” isn’t particularly impressive, but hopefully, more collaborations and singles like these will help him improve his writing skills before the next major release. Throughout, Hurricane Wisdom displays a considerable amount of promise.
