Hit-Boy, Spank Nitti James, BabyTron & AZ Chike – Start Dissin

Hit-Boy is finally returning, and a recent string of excellent singles has even more to offer this week. Alongside MCs Spank Nitti James, AZ Chike, and BabyTron, and with assistance from renowned producer Scott Storch, he produced and rhymed over the new West Coast track “Start Dissin’.”

The charm of this jam lies in its numerous melodic components and engaging leads, which add depth to the sharp and charismatic verses throughout. The producer of “Wheel Of Fortune” creates a significant impact with a rising piano melody, screaming synthesizers, increasing pitch, and a sharp, simplified drumbeat. As for the performance, we genuinely can’t ask for anything more from these MCs, who exhibit precise delivery and numerous notable lines concerning certain rappers who are being sued, OKC’s championship in 2025, and, essentially, self-appreciation.

Listening to Spank Nitti James on this beat is particularly heartening after his previous collaboration with Hit-Boy, “Eat Couch,” and their High-Class Wiggler project. We would be hopeful for additional collaborations of this magnitude in the future, as this type of posse cut is always a pleasure.

Despite Hit-Boy facing some external difficulties, it appears he’s pressing forward with confidence in anticipation of his next project. “Start Dissin'” comes across as a challenge at first, and it’s reassuring to know that it will be a tough one to succeed in.
