The organisers have officially announced both the nominees’ announcement date and the date for the 205 Headies Awards in a formal statement.
Following the confirmation of the Headies Awards’ return to its place of origin, Nigeria, in 2024, the event’s organisers have now revealed the dates for both the announcement of nominees and the ceremony itself, for the 17th edition of the prestigious award.
The upcoming Headies Awards ceremony is scheduled for a later date.
It has been confirmed in an official announcement on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, that the Headies Awards ceremony, which is returning to Nigeria for the first time in over two years, will be held in Lagos, Nigeria, on April 5, 2025, following the cancellation of the 17th edition in 2024. The announcement was made by Ayo Animashaun, who serves as both the Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Producer of the Headies Awards.
It has been confirmed that the April 2025 award ceremony will be for the 2024 installment, with the 2025 ceremony scheduled for December 2025.
The nominees for the Headies Award in 2025 have yet to be announced.
The information about the nominees, host, and venue has not been revealed yet, but the announcement of the ceremony date has already created a lot of excitement. It was also confirmed that the complete list of nominees for the Headies Awards 2025 will be announced on February 12, 2025.
Established in 2006, the Headies Awards have been synonymous with excellence, showcasing outstanding accomplishments and serving as a global stage for Nigerian musicians.
The preceding event, staged in Atlanta, USA, was the second instance the awards were presented outside of Nigeria.
