Halle’s first album is centered around female figures. The singer told Billboard’s Tetris Kelly on Thursday, October 23, that she decided to feature only women on her track ‘love? or something like it’, set to release on Friday, October 24.

“Halle expressed her desire for the album to feature only women.” “At least initially for the first drop because I feel like women often empathise with one another, particularly when it comes to love and heartbreak.”

She also pointed out that several of her colleagues can identify with being in a situation where they experience love in the public eye and are constantly subjected to opinions on how people think they should behave. Joining Halle on the album are her sister Chlöe, along with H.E.R., Mariah the Scientist, and GloRilla.

Halle expressed only positive sentiments about her collaboration with GloRilla, comparing the latter to a distant relative, according to people on X who say they resemble one another. She expressed her affection for Glo. The singer then recalled sending her “Know Bout Me,” and to her surprise, GloRilla “immediately returned her verse.” She exclaimed, “I was utterly shocked.” I’m like, “That’s really cool.”

The “Angel” singer, who assisted on “Alone,” stated that Mariah would frequently send her “really sweet messages.” Halle stated that they simply comprehended each other and what they were both experiencing. I actually sent her a handful of songs initially, and this was the one that genuinely resonated with her and she wanted to be involved in.

When I heard her voice, I fell in love with it, and it was really enjoyable to combine it with background sounds. Halle suggested that listeners can anticipate a contrast in her H.E.R. collaboration, “No Warning”, featuring lush instrumentation set against crass lyrics.

Several of Halle’s earlier singles, such as “In Your Hands,” “Because I Love You,” “Braveface,” and “Back and Forth,” are set to be included in it. Take a look at the trailer for the album she’s released below while we wait.
