Gunna confirmed on Monday (Sept. 22) that a joint album with Offset is coming. At his “One Night Only” concert as part of Apple Music Live, he informed fans that the project is underway and elaborated on the reason for the delay.

It is currently being planned, but we are scheduling it at a slower pace. It’s apparent that he released his album, and I released mine. Gunna told Ebro Darden, “I was on his, he was on mine.” The pair collaborated on “at my purest” from The Last Wun in August, and again later that month on Offset’s KIARI track “Different Species.”

“It feels like we’re just being given a couple of empty promises in order to get that meal to you quickly,” Gunna added. Watch the “One Night Only” performance and his remarks on the concept of a collaborative long-player below.

Earlier in the conversation, an attendee at the concert inquired what makes Offset such a notable collaborator. Our working approach is naturally evolving. When we get together, it’s not forced, so it’s more or less fun. We’re enjoying ourselves. He arrives with the beats; otherwise, I might bring some beats, after which Turbo joins in, and we work together from there.

Gunna went on to say, “I believe we were literally fueling each other when we were in that studio, which is why the music has that particular sound.” Notably, Offset is one of the few Atlanta rappers who have been openly supportive of the “fukumean” hitmaker since his return home from jail in 2022 following an Alford plea.

They also collaborated in 2024 on “prada dem” and “Style Rare.” In February, when a particular user inquired of Offset, “Where is that collaborative tape with Gunna?”, he responded with chef and pan of food emojis. It is impossible to predict exactly when the project will be completed, but now that both have released their solo albums, the timing couldn’t be more opportune.
